From whence did the controversy of Creationism v. Darwinism originate? The Spirit has scattered clues around in the Scripture with regard to time scale applied. Some events occur in heaven and some are historical and some are set in a narrative mode peculiar to the Bible. So there would be shifts in viewpoints as evident in the Book of Job or in the Book of the Revelation. Satan appearing before God in the former, for instance is far removed from earth time. We read of another scale for example “But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day(2 Pe.3:8-NIV)”.

The Holy Spirit gives an account of the creation calendar and in the chapter 2 he recaps it thus: “These are the generations of the heavens and of the earth when they were created, in the day that the Lord God made the earth and the heavens(2:4)”, He balances the generations of heavens and the earth with the day. It is clear that the day of the Lord is not single day of 24 hours (as we know it) but a period corresponding to the scale we found in the quote from St Peter.  The theology cobbled by scholarship of literary minds is far off the mark as would if one were to look for geographical landmarks of the earth while pictures are thermal imaging of the same. The Holy Spirit has set down the narrative where significance is on instruction in righteousness. “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, 17 so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work(2 Ti.3:16-17-NIV).

The Bible is God document. The Spirit has organized the will of the Father and how the Son shall fulfill it. The Word was with God meaning that the word of God is eternal word the everlasting covenant to which the laws of Moses, are subservient. In short the way to understand is to compare the spiritual things with spiritual. God is Spirit. God being omnipresent does not require space and time as such. The Spirit for our benefit has set down the narrative on a time which is God’s Time. So those who try to predict dooms day are bound to fail.

Consider the sovereignty of God built upon the eternal word. It is the constitution of God. When God touched the mouth of young Jeremiah it had removed all his doubts concerning his age. He was equipped to be his prophet. Here is the relevant passage. “Then the Lord put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the Lord said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth ( Je.1:9).”  Similarly God has fashioned from the ground body of man that only goes for our physical bodies. His breath into the nostrils of Adam as the Spirit puts it has set the impulse, the spirit of understanding. A living body and a living soul are two variable speeds set on single center and it is what inner man signifies. The word sweeter than honey and it is within our very being. It is what truth written in our hearts means. It connects in some fundamental ways God’s kingdom with our being. So faith is not what we bring from elsewhere. Psalm139 is a testimony of the Power and Wisdom of God. In vv.11-18 the Psalmist pours out his wonder which goes right into the center of creative faith of God. “Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear (He.11:3)”.When we speak of mind which is neither here nor there in terms of physiology our thoughts finding home must be attributed to God.

Faith is the nail that drives man so the eternal word of God works from within without the aid of our sensory inputs. Our faith is not a matter dependent on direct experience or physical contours of a world that we live in. Death reveals vanity of molding faith accordingly.   “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well”.Truth written in our inward parts for instance challenges us to decipher either in terms of time element or life element our lives separate from what has been determined by God. “For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s(1 Co.6:20).” When God the Son shed His blood on the cross our salvation came from faith and from God. What does it mean? Your life has been rolled back to the eternal word as well as moved forward to eternity. You are deemed a new creation.”He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end (Ec.3:11)”.
