A salt crystal has a form. It has its character or function. Taste of salt is different from sweetness of sugar.

In its make up of sodium and chlorine atoms it carries collective experience of these atoms; there exists a certain force acting between these two sets to hold a precise order,- it is what gives table salt its integrity. Think of this crystal as a system held together by facets each working towards a single purpose. It is truth.

When a man can recall its taste without recourse to senses we have an idea of consciousness. Form of table salt is what body of man would indicate. Spirit denotes consciousness while its character represents soul.
