Zion is not any geographical place, nor is Jerusalem. What is the significance of new earth and new heaven? Let the Bible throw light on eternity to which the end of the world is leading-benny


Let us consider vv.5-6. The God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the Lord his God:/ Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth truth for ever:”

The God of Jacob is used in a specific sense. He is the God which made heaven and the earth. He is omnipresent and eternal. Yet He has chosen a habitation for himself, -it is a city where He would dwell forever,-” For the LORD hath chosen Zion; he hath desired it for his habitation(Ps.132:13;) It fits no specific geographical location, “Why leap ye, ye high hills? this is the hill which God desireth to dwell in; yea, the LORD will dwell in it for ever(Ps.68:16)”.
