God breathed into the nostrils of Adam. This spirit gives him a free will. He was set in the garden to keep it and conduct himself as His steward. He forbade him from eating the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. By warning him the consequence of disobedience God let him use his discretion. God trusted him with names of His creation. Breath of God was intended as a medium for faith as well.

Faith of Adam is shown to have taken root well from God’s breath. It is revealed at the creation of Eve. Adam would had no knowledge as to what transpired in his deep sleep but when God brought Eve before him it was evident. “And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man./ And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh…” (Ge.2:22-23)
