From the middle of December we have been studying the Book of Isaiah and looking back what it means to us forms the subject in this last post.

Firstly let us understand what do we mean by prophecies? “For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost (2 Pe.1:21,20)”. It was God who revealed the burden to Isaiah and he was to speak as with Prophet Jeremiah ‘all that I command thee (Je.1:17).’

Isaiah refers to everlasting covenant. So let us place it as the rest frame against which man and nations are to be evaluated. Man as a rational being judges his world  from appearances but not so with God. Everlasting covenant is demonstrative of divine Nature. Conclusive evidence of our righteousness is not in us but how God determines. He…

In this concluding chapter we shall take up the verses 22-23 first. “For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the Lord, so shall your seed and your name remain./23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon  to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the Lord.” From one sabbath to another significance of which cannot be lost on any diligent reader. It is as clear as the heaven and the earth (Ge.1:1) is rendered new by God the Son. New heaven and the new earth therefore collectively spells the Rest to which the world has been purchased with the blood of the Son and reconciled. Here the worship of God, is in truth and spirit (Jn.4:23).

The last Adam refers to the…

When God restores his people it is tagged as new. “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (2 Co.5:17). It is not only for the person but also in his perception. Dying to the world at water baptism is a signal to the world and it is also by the earnest given to him by the indwelling Spirit. Till Jesus Christ restores the earth and places under the feet of his Father the earth goes on merrily in its rounds, eating, drinking marrying (Lk.17:27) But when Noah entered the ark it was not Mercy but divine wrath that determined the events. So newness of salvation must be preserved by those says they are dead to the world. The preachers who have adulterated the word of God with their greed shall be shown what they really…

The first three verses are equivalent of the Lord’s Prayer:”Our Father which art in heaven hallowed be thy name ;thy kingdom come:”

Oh that thou wouldest rend the heavens, that thou wouldest come down, that the mountains might flow down at thy presence,

As when the melting fire burneth, the fire causeth the waters to boil, to make thy name known to thine adversaries, that the nations may tremble at thy presence!

When thou didst terrible things which we looked not for, thou camest down, the mountains flowed down at thy presence.

“Give us this day our daily bread:” points to the well known verse also quoted by St Paul(1 Co.2:9) “But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.”

For since the beginning…

“Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear(Is.59:1)”:This verse spoken by Isaiah reminds us of God telling Moses,””Is the LORD’s arm too short? Now you will see whether or not My word shall come to pass.(Nu.11:23)”

Hand, arm and the finger of God are all expressions which we shall see referred to many persons who have been pressed into God’s service. These are persons graded as saviors for specific purpose and by law of gradation are one and the same used by the angel of his Presence sent on behalf of the Lord God. So in terms of service each one of them bears relation to Jesus Christ who is the Savior of the world. God sent Moses to deliver the Israelites from their bondage in Egypt. In the fulness of time the Spirit informs us that…

“No contemporary scholar maintains that the entire book, or even most of it, was written by one person”.. Wikipedia reports on the Book of Isaiah. A prophet, by definition to quote the word of God comes from God. “Here now my words:if there be any prophet among you, I the Lord will make himself known unto him….(Num.12:6).” It is not a single person or 100 had a hand in it is immaterial. Some scholars tend to divide the Book of Isaiah into three parts the first section comprising of chapters 1-39 as written by the Prophet himself and the second part from chapters 40-55 as Deutero-Isaiaih. The supplement of the two are compiled in Trito-Isaiah chapters 56 to 66. Needless to mention that no scholarship can better than the wisdom of God who chooses for His service people of a different calibre. They have to be faithful to their calling…

While we study the Bible we are to keep in focus that it is God breathed and as St Paul writes to Timothy (2 Ti.3:16) it is to be treated as instruction in righteousness. God is a Spirit and consequently when we study spiritual significance of any passage intended for the reader it is His righteousness we want to acquire and develop. Spirit which is of God must instruct and it is different from moral instruction that is of the world.  Law of gradation is a tool to separate the two. For example the light which God separated from darkness (Ge.1:3) and creation of the sun to divide the day from night (Ge.1:14). One is with regards to the glory of God. It is in this sense we approach it while we consider the holy city of God in eternity.”And the city had no need for the sun…for the glory…
