Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand./ Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.” (vv.23-24)

What is this right hand of God? It is Person Specific so when Jesus speaks about casting demons he refers himself the finger of God bringing kingdom of heaven to the world. The same finger wrote which we find in the Book of Daniel. “In the same hour came forth fingers of a man’s hand, and wrote over against the candlestick upon the plaister of the wall of the king’s palace.” Judgment meted out to the impious King Balshazzar was according to the word of God.(Dan.5:5) The result was instantaneous. He turned into jelly with no more strength left in him. The word of God was sent forth to which Psalm says, “He sent out his word and healed…

“So foolish was I, and ignorant: I was as a beast before thee./Nevertheless I am continually with thee: thou hast holden me by my right hand./Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.”(vv.22-24)

We have come across this verse,”Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding but must be controlled by bit and bridle or they will not come to you.”(Ps.32:9-NIV) While we are discussing the vital role the soul of man we shall do well to examine this verse in terms of the article, the treasure which God of all mercies has freely given. Set not your affections on things below but on things above.(Col.3:2). Jesus also said where your treasure is the heart also shall follow suit. Thus when Evangelicals follow political parties it is their Southern strategy so it made sense to Billy Graham to…

God is the salvation of soul which is a knowledge wasted on the wicked. It is like casting pearls before the proverbial swine and what do they care as longs as bilge of worldly corruption to wallow in is there? . We already came across this passage. “Say unto my soul, I am thy salvation./ Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul”(35:3-5) They are like chaff before the wind. They would have kicked dust about when they were but man in honor cannot keep for long without being connected to god. They are all covenant breakers to reject the grace of God that soul signifies. “Because they have no changes, therefore they fear not God./ He hath put forth his hands against such as be at peace with him: he hath broken his covenant.(55:19-20)

It took a while for Asaph to realize…

“There shall be an handful of corn in the earth upon the top of the mountains; the fruit thereof shall shake like Lebanon: and they of the city shall flourish like grass of the earth.”

This is a prophecy which King Solomon has left for us, so its significance must find match elsewhere and it is what we shall do. A handful of corn in the earth refers to the remnant of Israel, which are plucked out of the fire to which we have in the Book of Zechariah,”is not this a brand plucked out of the fire?/ Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel.”(Za.3:1-4) In the same chapter we find reason what Joshua the high priest represents. He represents the Branch, and the nation of Israel as well. The name Joshua means God is my salvation and its hellenized variant is Jesus. In…

Superscription credits to King Solomon who most likely had a hand in collecting the psalms his pious father had composed and at the end we are informed, ‘The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended’ thus the physical hands that compiled the book keep the Father Son relationship as is in heaven.

vv.1-4

Wisdom is the principal thing. Had the son of King Solomon cultivated it instead of the riff-raff who advised ill his kingdom would not have sheared off so calamitously. “But Rehoboam rejected the advice of the older men and instead asked the opinion of the young men who had grown up with him and were now his advisers.”(1 Ki.12:8-NLT). Of course God had willed it for Solomon’s sins. Wisdom guides a king to craft the state policies so the poor and needy in a realm shall find succor. “And he shall live, and to him…

Soul of the righteous is secure with regards to fame and posterity for which man scribble away to make it to the Booker Prize shortlist or make deals with warring divisions for a political consensus with an eye to be seen as a statesman; such vanity seizes man in his ambition to be placed on a pedestal. On the other hand God alone is worthy to be praised which a souls shall well know. This is what David desires,”Say unto my soul, I am thy salvation.”(35:3). It is in accord with what the 24 elders in heaven declare before the throne of God. “For thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” For this reason pretensions of greatness in man is as foolish as our woke culture teaches us. Neither his wealth helps him. “Surely a man goes about as a shadow! Surely for…

“For mine enemies speak against me; and they that lay wait for my soul take counsel together,/ Saying, God hath forsaken him: persecute and take him; for there is none to deliver him.”

Living in a world of make-believe a false narrative is easier to spin that take the unseen by trust. When God chooses a man for service he first equips him for the tasks. Soul is the biggest beneficiary of any one working with God. It is unseen and taken on trust.

Jeremiah would plead that he was too young to take up His charge against nations. What was it? “See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.” (Je.1:10) When God put His word in a very telling way what was he…

“In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion./ Deliver me in thy righteousness, and cause me to escape: incline thine ear unto me, and save me./ Be thou my strong habitation, whereunto I may continually resort: thou hast given commandment to save me; for thou art my rock and my fortress.”

Strong habitation of God is such that no power on earth can prevail against what He has purposed. “ From the place of his habitation he looketh upon all the inhabitants of the earth./ He fashioneth their hearts alike; he considereth all their works.”(33:14-15) God does not look as man does. The same heart means no one is beneath his notice so his breath shall produce certain responses as natural as a plant drinks up moisture sent from above and brightens up. God considers such telltale clues as…

Make haste, o God, to deliver me; make haste to help me, O Lord./ Let them be ashamed and confounded that seek after my soul: let them be turned backward, and put to confusion, that desire my hurt.

In the coming posts we shall consider the adversaries against our soul to which we shall find many references scattered throughout. “Plead my cause, O Lord, with them that strive with me: fight against them that fight against me./…against them that persecute me: say unto my soul, I am thy salvation./ Let them be confounded and put to shame that seek after my soul: let them be turned back and brought to confusion that devise my hurt.”(35:3-5). Soul refers to inner man and it is about truth set in inward parts so any effective resistance must be built up in the body. This is how Daniel set about to avoid being ambushed…

“Let not the water flood overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me.” (v.15)

The pit mentioned here is not the pit from which the rock, the righteous are dug up (Is,55:1) This rock symbolizing the fulfilling work of the Son is set against the stone that symbolizes the will of God the Father. Zion, it is called. (Is.28:16)

Thus the Spirit sets symbols specific as tags for the will of God the other and the other for Son who shall accomplish. Thus the word of God is sent forth and it returns prospering in its purpose. Thus we have the everlasting covenant between God and Man.

Let not the pit shut her mouth upon me refers to the lowest parts of the earth, which is outer darkness. “cast him into outer darkness, there shall be weeping and gnashing…
