Overview

The time Ezekiel predicted this Jerusalem had not yet been destroyed and Judah had not yet been completely conquered. As discussed before elements of prophesy as delivered is from from God and the time is God’s Time reconstituted time so what is happening touches upon the present, also what has been determined earlier. So Time is on the wings of an arrow that moves one eternity to another. The man in the Linen who shall come in subsequent chapters is the Word of God given a shape consistent with this being a vision. The prophet is among other captives in exile yet he is in Jerusalem witnessing the abominations practiced behind a cloak of piety. It is true now as it was then. So abomination of ministers set over modern churches is cut from the same cloth of Ezekiel’s time. Elders prophets and princes worshiping idols in the Holies…

Ezekiel as a watchman predicts an end to the abominations committed by the rebellious house of Israel. ‘The end is come upon the four corners of the land’ however is a signal that it is not the end of God’s Mercy. However the remnant of them shall indeed is ahead, ‘So the words ‘and ye shall know that I am the Lord’ leaves a door open for hope.

In the light of the above let us consider what Jerusalem would mean to the remnant,”…Of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified(Re.11:8)”. We considered in a previous post on Sodom from the Book of Isaiah (1:9). Sodom as a place is finished. Yet Isaiah addresses the shakers and movers of Jerusalem with these words, “Hear the word of the Lord, ye rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our God, ye people…

Yet will I leave a remnant, that ye may have some that shall escape the sword among the nations, when ye shall be scattered through the countries.

At many places we come across a remnant. First we shall consider this verse taken from Isaiah. “Except the Lord of hosts had left unto us a very small remnant, we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like unto Gomorrah(Is.1:9).” Curiously enough the prophet is addressing the leaders of Israel thus:Hear the word of the Lord, ye rulers of Sodom; give ear unto the law of our God, ye people of Gomorrah. Disobedience is not about place names that shall be destroyed by fire and brimstone or by great flood. Now shall consider this verse which is from the Book of Zechariah.” And it shall come to pass, that in all the land, saith the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut…

New Living Translation has this verse:”God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure(Ep.1:5)”. Adoption when the Spirit uses is not merely in a sense we understand of a baby left at some doorstep and being found. God foreseen us even before the foundation of the world. It is according to Fellowship of God with Man is about eternal verities and according to the good pleasure of his will (KJV).’ Mind of God while dealing with His creation and with earth has a focus and that is the Son. Whoever thus has the Son has also the Father.”He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life(1 John5:12). Apostle John in another place says,’the wrath of God’ abides…

12A third part of thee shall die with the pestilence, and with famine shall they be consumed in the midst of thee: and a third part shall fall by the sword round about thee; and I will scatter a third part into all the winds, and I will draw out a sword after them.

13Thus shall mine anger be accomplished, and I will cause my fury to rest upon them, and I will be comforted: and they shall know that I theLordhave spoken it in my zeal, when I have accomplished my fury in them.

Moreover I will make thee waste, and a reproach among the nations that are round about thee, in the sight of all that pass by.

15So it shall be a reproach and a taunt, an instruction and an astonishment unto the nations that are round about thee, when I shall execute judgments…

Mr. Clod and Leaf on the War Path

IMG_0532IMG_0533IMG_0534

One fine morning Mr. Clod was surprised by a leaf who introduced himself as a Jihadi. He had South London accent that marked him as a Brit and he said, “Clod, Is it not time to clean up the land?”

Clod who has been called Ali Baba said, “ Why don’t you clean up your house first?” Leaf was sure that they should not settle for anything less than a Caliphate .”

At that point Clod brightened up and said, “Caliphate! All you need to say ‘Open Sesame’ Syria and Levant shall be under our feet.” Clod pointed out to some rag that was blackened under the scorching sun and said it should make a flag. Mr. Leaf giggled and said, “Hardly have I made a suggestion before you are brimming with ideas.” They agreed to march to Syria in order to…

Ancient of the Days seated on his throne one day called the Archangel and said, “Bring before me the man who has enjoyed unalloyed happiness. Even a day of happiness will do.” The Archangel thus went to the earth. Everywhere he sought he found no such man. He finally came across the Holy Roman emperor who had everything to his name riches, glory and honor. The Archangel asked, “Oh man of Illustrious Name, You must be the happiest man on this realm. “Tell me are you?” Yes I am”.

The Archangel took him to the throne in heaven. Ancient of the Days looked at the emperor, and asked his angel in attendance for the books to be brought. After examining them he said,”I find so many names whose happiness you have drained by your acts and by omission. No you don’t merit.”. He was sent back. Next time the Archangel appeared before him the Ancient asked him to bring in one who was the most miserable of men. The man was found who was a peasant and had worked breaking his back, through hail, blizzard and drought. He never knew what the next day brought. Thus he moaned through his litany of woes. But the Ancient of the Days on checking the records shook his head,” You do not know yourself. I find so many names who owe their blessings on account of you.” He was duly sent back.

The Archangel was not sure anyone could be totally happy. “Overloading body with all happiness is for death to rob them at the end,” the  Archangel mused,

Ancient of the Days nodded,” Neither putting all happiness on the spirit will do. It is to deny the body its needful muscle to make their world. ” In the end He said, We shall give Man his soul to give counterweight on the earth as well as in the afterlife a presence that speaks for his body.”

Soul speaks for each man or woman, and happiness is betwixt and between body and spirit.

In order to set Judgment of God in proper perspective we need to keep in mind the Fellowship of God with Man is the driver that keeps judgment of God alongside the Salvation Plan of God. When He judges man as in the case of ten plagues we are told that animals also were affected by it. “….a boil breaking forth with blains upon man, and upon beast(Ex.9:10). By Association judgment is executed upon man and his world.

In this context when God says “And let them make me a sanctuary; that I may dwell among them.(Ex.25:8)” We have an emblem of which set in heaven. The four beasts with six wings is a memorial before God. The same arrangement is continued in the four living creatures that play a part in the Book of Ezekiel. These are sent from heaven and they reveal as well as execute judgment from…

In the previous post we considered the three-fold judgment covered body soul and spirit. We shall examine the aspect of fire further.

We have an incident in the life of Jesus when the Samaritans made little of receiving him and John and his brother responded in a manner that invited rebuke from their master. “And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did?55 But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of(Lk.9:54-55).

Spirit when was given as promised by Jesus after his Ascension it came as many tongues of fire. It is a sign of God’s judgment and it shall be as and when God determines. Fire in the present case was to be done before the other captives…

And thou, son of man, take thee a sharp knife, take thee a barber’s razor, and cause it to pass upon thine head and upon thy beard: then take thee balances to weigh, and divide the hair.

2Thou shalt burn with fire a third part in the midst of the city, when the days of the siege are fulfilled: and thou shalt take a third part, and smite about it with a knife: and a third part thou shalt scatter in the wind; and I will draw out a sword after them.

3Thou shalt also take thereof a few in number, and bind them in thy skirts.

Then take of them again, and cast them into the midst of the fire, and burn them in the fire; for thereof shall a fire come forth into all the house of Israel.

Hair represents glory and honour for natural…
