This psalm is superscripted as a psalm of David. At the end of Psalm 72 we had this entry: ‘The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended (v.20)”.  Unusual is it not to introduce him once again? The Spirit is reinforcing the core value of the Bible. The narrative of the Salvation Plan has a centre of gravity namely Jesus Christ. All names place names shall consequently bear relationship with him. For example the Spirit while sets down visions of apocalypse assigns the period ‘a time, times and half a time'(Re.12:14b) or ‘a thousand two hundred and three score days’ which is forty and two months (Re.11:2-3). It is a tag for the earthly ministry of Jesus. The great king of Israel is revered by the nation of Israel. If he calls Jesus as his Lord there must be a valid reason is it not? Jesus is of…

Praise of creatures testifies the Creator. ‘it is he that hath made us.’ Praise centers about His goodness His mercy and Truth which endures generations to generations.’For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.’

What is goodness but the sum total of the creator evidence of which is seen in the creature. Genius of Mona Lisa owes the hand of da Vinci. But can anyone build up the Creator Being from His works alone. Each creation  does testify His excellence but He is far beyond and outside His creation. So man who merely speaks of His goodness from the works of hands does not place all the facts. On one occasion Jesus touching on this topic said,”And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God:(Matt.19:17a)” Jesus as God the Son…

This New Song refers to the tableau we are shown in the Book of Revelation:”And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father’s name written in their foreheads (Re.14:1)”. These are first fruits and in order to understand their place (in the salvation of believers redeemed from the earth) let us consider the items grains, wine and oil and these refer to body, soul and spirit of each. “And wine that maketh glad the heart of man, and oil to make his face to shine, and bread which strengtheneth man’s heart(Ps.104:15)”.
“..For they are without fault before the throne of God.” It refers to their offering in which they were kept in the secret tabernacle while they lived. In other words they worshiped God with all their hearts. Here we have are expression which is…

“….His right hand and his holy arm (v.1)”

Marvelous things of God are assigned to His right hand. “Surely My own hand founded the earth, and My right hand spread out the heavens; when I summon them, they stand up together(Is.48:13)”.  For example we read of light as His garment.”Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain:(Ps.104:2)” We have a clue as to what His right hands means in terms of his creation.

Creative Power coexists with Wisdom of the Word. The Righteousness of God is divine Nature and the hand is its expression for our understanding. Divine Nature on active mode. “All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made(John 1:1-3).Jesus Christ is his right hand since as the Word made flesh He served as an extension of His very creative…

Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart./ Rejoice in the Lord, ye righteous; and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness (vv.11-12).

Body and spirit are contrary to one another as timescale operating for earth and heaven have two different time fames. It is what the epistle of St Peter teaches us. “With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day(2 Pe.3:8-NIV)”.  Compare our natural world in order to make a comparison. Our whole solar system – orbits around the center of the Milky Way Galaxy. We are moving at an average velocity of 828,000 km/hr. But even at that high rate, it still takes us about 230 million years to make one complete orbit around the Milky Way(Ack:gsfc.nasa/starchild) We speak as though the earth is moving around the Sun while it is…

How do we witness our Lord God in our daily walks?  We are called to be special in the way we live in this untoward generation. It is not what you create a brand in the age of consumerism but its uniqueness is as distinct light of the sun is from neon lights. Walk the Talk, the sum total of your Christian Living in its naturalness. It is as though the light that you have set on the candle stand of your inner man bears witness of the truth written in your inward parts.. “That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;(Phi.2:15).

The Spirit instructs as what the Spirit of God moving upon the waters did to the earth. The earth, which was void and without form…

We all are of dual nationalities. We are among men but when we have received Jesus Christ as our Savior Lord we carry two passports. One we shall cast away which is what death for child of God signifies. When we have died to sin at water baptism, and rose again we are among the worldly but we look for glory of God (which is righteousness of God) leading us to His kingdom of light. It is a world to come. “For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come(He.13:14)” So two nationalities about our body and our spirit hold a no-man’s land.

Soul it is called.

Outer man and inner man have their own priorities and inclinations. This no man’s land is what soul signifies. The Spirit gave us a hint after God formed man from the ground. That is what body of man is…

He that planted the ear, shall he not hear? he that formed the eye, shall he not see?(v.9)”

Glory of God is the righteousness of God that precedes Him. We have an illustration of this in which Moses asked God, “….I beseech thee, shew me thy glory./ And he said, I will make all my goodness pass before thee, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before thee; and will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will shew mercy on whom I will shew mercy./ And he said, Thou canst not see my face: for there shall no man see me, and live./ And the Lord said, Behold, there is a place by me, and thou shalt stand upon a rock:/ And it shall come to pass, while my glory passeth by, that I will put thee in a…

Overview:

God is Love. A simple statement yet it is profound. It makes the world go round. Let us consider its physical aspect. Gravity for instance is law of attraction and pulling all objects to the centre of the earth would include every atom of the object itself? God can reveal Himself in its least reducible level. Two atoms of hydrogen and oxygen shall seek and where it connects the result is the same. When the Psalmist says,”The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork (Ps.19:1)”. Righteousness of God is such sure testimonies of God are pervasive throughout His domain. This Alpha and Omega aspect of eternity is similar so every generation of men which ever has had being wave after wave and collectively these has only one centre of gravity. The risen Christ thus introduces himself to John, “I am Alpha and Omega, the…

Testimony we are considering here is of God. What worth is that of man?In St John’s Gospel we read of Jesus, “He did not need any testimony about mankind, for he knew what was in each person(John 2:25-NIV)”. On another occasion however he spells out what testimony is intended for. “But I receive not testimony from man: but these things I say, that ye might be saved (John.5:34)”. It is for this reason the Spirit records the voice from heaven as Jesus Christ came out of the River Jordan. He submitted himself to receive baptism and he said it was appropriate for him. As Word who became flesh he had emptied himself to be identified with Everyman so he said,  ‘it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness.’ This emptying process or kenosis is limited only as far as his body was concerned. It was prepared before the words began. The…
