God breathed into the nostrils of Adam. This spirit gives him a free will. He was set in the garden to keep it and conduct himself as His steward. He forbade him from eating the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. By warning him the consequence of disobedience God let him use his discretion. God trusted him with names of His creation. Breath of God was intended as a medium for faith as well.

Faith of Adam is shown to have taken root well from God’s breath. It is revealed at the creation of Eve. Adam would had no knowledge as to what transpired in his deep sleep but when God brought Eve before him it was evident. “And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man./ And Adam said, This is now bone of my bones, and flesh of my flesh…” (Ge.2:22-23)

Traditional computers based on silicone-chip store all data as 1s or 0s,.Moore’s Law dictated that computing power would double every two years. Now it is outpaced by quantum computing. These make calculations with entangled particles, or qubits, And it turns out, they’re gaining on ordinary computers at a spookily fast, “doubly exponential rate.” That means that processing power grows by a factor of 2. 2raised to the power of 2 (4), , then 2^2^2 (16), then 2^2^3 (256), then 2^2^4 (65,536), and so on. And it’s all captured by a new law of computing, known as Neven’s Law,

What exactly is Neven’s Law? Named after Hartmut Neven, the director of the Quantum Artificial Intelligence Lab at Google who first noticed the phenomenon, the law dictates how quickly quantum processors are improving,

Human laws are meant to go faster than ever before but how far? These are patterned after already existing so how faster our thoughts can travel? God is a spirit meaning that it is charged by Power and Wisdom so intuition is knowledge ,life experience compressed into as with any charged particle given a spin. time and space are rather in the field so when question arises flee or fight, it is answered simultaneously.

Science inform us particles can get entangled and simultaneously charged particles can work as one. So our spirit and soul shall have their meanings set in a different language. “Can two walk together, except they be agreed? Amos3:3)” refers to entangled particles one signifying God’s will and the other of man and it shall define faith.

Human cells make up only 43% of the body’s total cell count. The rest are microscopic colonists. It is a micro-biome that includes bacteria, viruses, fungi and single-celled archaea. The human genome – the full set of genetic instructions for a human being – is made up of 20,000 instructions called genes. But add all the genes in our micro-biome together and the figure comes out at between two million and 20 million microbial genes. It’s known as the second genome and is linked to diseases including allergy, obesity, inflammatory bowel disease, Parkinson’s, whether cancer drugs work and even depression and autism. I included this piece of news from the field of Science to show what we call human where boundaries are fluidal; and our rational thinking is neither open and shut nor complete as we would like to believe. We rationalize at one on impulses that no one can tell where it has begun or it will end. As evidence of it we have conscious and unconscious halves that our brain represents. It is in our inability the matter of faith for a Christian draws certainty. We are not making assertion on blind trust of our abstract thinking or in what we observe as a world outside. We are neither in control of one nor other to be correct.

When the Bible asserts, ’God created the heaven and the earth’ we believe it as true. Considering man in terms of biology is composite we can infer from the statement ‘And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of his life…(Ge.2:7)’. His living soul is bequeathed by courtesy of God and material body in the light of earlier statement of the earth. Consider dust as a catch-all for micro-biome. In the light of the facts supplied by the Scripture and Science do we see heaven and earth as separate or as one? Our faculties operate for which what instructions are set in us owe to God as well as to our forefathers. Thus faith is not what we employ by our reason but sound reasoning when it has a transcendental quality of a high authority, as it were. It always shall transcend merely what our human side informs. Patriarch Abraham would not have left Haran merely because there were series of migration at that time to the land of Canaan. He believed when God prompted him to leave his kith and kin. “ …Also He hath set the world in their hearts so that no man can find out the work that maketh from the beginning to the end.(Eccl.3:11)”The opening verse of the Book of Genesis, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth,” means exactly what it says.

Now faith is the evidence of things not seen (He.11:1).”
Let us consideer this verse:”For the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal(2 Co.4:18).We have an emblem in heaven a body, and ‘the Lamb slain from the the foundation of the worlds began’ to be precise. Body every believer that comes to Jesus Christ holds evidence who his Savior is. This body shall perish since it is temporal while his faith which is not seen is of eternal quality.
What is the body of faith but the same body for which the Spirit provides us a long list of names. We shall consider a few. Of Jesus Christ the Psalmist predicted, “…But a body hast thou prepared me; (He.10:5-7) The Spirit is here setting a symbol for one whose offering would perfect forever them that are sanctified. The Word was God who became flesh. So he had to provide a body of evidence, which shall be what we could infer as faith given its perfect expression. His blood evidence of the body for the world is not in observance of a litany of Do’s and Don’ts indicated by Law of Moses but faith, the unseen quality of eternal God. It was so with the Patriarchs. Abraham believed God and was counted unto him for righteousness. The self-same faith with which God raised up Jesus caused ‘him (Abraham) that was as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky in multitude, …(He.11:12)” For the same reason Abraham when tried offered up his only begotten son, ‘accounting that God was able to raise him up, even from the dead’; In short the emblem of a body in heaven is the testimony of God that shall not change in eternity. Body of evidence we know as the Church or the body of Christ. In the throne of God and of the Lamb ‘his servants shall see his face (Re.22:4)’.
We see of ‘the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world (Re.13:8)’ having a counterpart in Jesus whom John the Baptist witnessed as the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world (Jn.1:29). The emblem is one and it is a token or testimony for the world. It is similar as the word forever settled in heaven (Ps.119:89). We shall from the many verses how important it is for a body to be sanctified by faith. Faith of God from the foundation of the world has set the emblem and the slain body became a reality when Jesus offered himself for all on the cross. “In the body of his flesh through death to prepare you holy and unblameable…(Col.1:23).” Being hid in Christ is an act of faith; so is the act of faith that is pendent on the Spirit of God who raised him from the dead. It is Christ in glory we see in the throne of the Lamb.
In short the body prepared as predicted by the Psalmist an emblem as well as a corporeal body. Faith of the Son perfected forever them that are sanctified.

Therefore sprang there even of one, and him as good as dead, so many as the stars of the sky… (He.11:12)”

Here we see Abraham and Sara counted among the heroes of faith. A man of faith by accepting God the Son is adopted in his Father so he is counted as though he were predestined for His blessings. Things that are seen are temporal while things not seen are identified as belonging to eternal attribute of God. Faith is one such. In order to show this we have stars of the sky and sand by the seashore as symbols. One indicates the innumerable and nameless host of believers (whose faith is counted) still living or dead. Whether dead or alive they are witnesses: they are preserved as a memorial in heaven. It is similar to the seven golden lamp-stands in the first vision of John in the Book of Revelation. No church on the earth is perfect but these are indicated in heaven. Wherever these churches are fallen off it shall correspondingly show. In whichever case the seven golden lamp-stands remain as a memorial. This is Parallelism of faith. Faith of man becomes testimony of God, to be precise.
God having promised to bless Abraham brings him outside in the open and said, “Look now toward heaven and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him (Abraham), so shall thy seed be.” Abraham believed him and it was counted to him for righteousness (Ge.15:5-6). In the Book of Job we read that his Spirit garnished the heaven with stars. No man can fathom the Spirit, which like the wind is not seen but we see its effect in the night sky. Faith as evidence of things seen is held as a memorial in heaven. This is also mentioned in the creation act of God. “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven…and let them be for signs (Ge.1:14).” The point we need to understand is the stars may run out of fuel and other stars shall make appearance. Amidst such changes the sign shall never change since it a memorial of faith. It is forever settled like the word in heaven (Ps.119:89). ‘By his spirit he (God) hath garnished the heavens (Jb. 26:13)’
In the key verse we are given the seed of Abraham compared to sand, which by the seashore innumerable. God’s promise to the patriarch ‘In thee shall all families of the earth be blessed (Ge.12:3) has a parallel in heaven. In this connection the writer to the Hebrews in the following chapter refers to ‘ a cloud of witnesses (He.12:1)’ and from the context we can understand that it is of all those martyrs who have suffered affliction ‘not accepting deliverance.’ They all ‘…having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: God having provided …that they without us should not be perfect (He.11:39-40).’

“The voice of thy brother’s blood crieth unto me from the ground…(Ge.4:10)” The Spirit in setting down Abel as a martyr uses his blood (‘bloods’ in Hebrew in plural form)in the verse, indicating how before God every creation stands. From Abel to the end of time each shall be counted in the cloud of witnesses in heaven as a memorial. Not even the fall of a sparrow shall escape His notice. No less is the death of a saint whose death before time is an affront to his majesty and honor. Those nine African American churchgoers who were killed in Charleston because of their color are martyrs and included in the cloud of witnesses. So are those killed in diverse places from Egypt to Indonesia because of belief. What we need to infer from the above is the timelessness of saints since faith is of such quality and their faith and their works are secure from hatred and calumny of the world. We have the testimony of God, “Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth…(Re.14:13)” Significant is the context in which this verse is marked in the apocalyptic vision of John. Just before the beast is judged the angel urges patience of those living. Those hundred and forty and four thousand souls shown standing with the Lamb on the mount Sion bear the Father’s name on their foreheads (Re.14:1). Urgency of the voice from heaven is to stiffen the faith of those caught in the Great Tribulation and they have a choice of martyrdom or bear the mark of the beast on their foreheads or on hand. Those who died for their faith shall be counted as blessed and their works validated. Thus the Spirit in setting Core Will of God uses parallelism of memorial in heaven for events occurring on the earth.

What came first: chicken or egg? It is a conundrum that has cracked many a head and the egg is still there for any smart Alec to test his wit. Tell a child one way or the other and he (not in an exclusive sense) shall believe you. The child’s faith comes from who is telling and not from the problem it poses. He shall come to it when his intellect is sharp enough. Are we not similarly placed?
The expression, ‘Out of the mouth of the babes’ indicates all the potential a babe holds, where his perception,-consequently point of view, latches on and how it shall undergo shifts every step of the way whether it has an end or not, no other can plumb. Considering no two person can ever match thoroughly can either lead to Us and Them or be grateful for the difference. It is how we express our middle state. Only God is eternal whose Power and Wisdom are altogether of a different quality. This brings to the topic: Is not faith the natural response in homo sapiens? But from experience we see how man is a commodity to be taken advantage whether it be Facebook or in politics. This explains the fallen state of man and not God.

One safe guide for any student of the Bible is to hold its inerrancy as self-evident. Consider the word as the constitution not written with hands but as testimony of God. This being the case I shall confine myself to the Scripture.
it is validated from three positions of God: He is a Spirit, He is the Word made flesh, and He is a Helper (1 John.5:7). It is what Trinity means.

The familiar quote in the epistle of St Paul to Timothy is clear. “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness,/ so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work (2 Tim.3:16-17)”. If one scriptural passage is viewed from the outset as correct but possible to be in error in some other parts what do we end up with? Will it not be giving ground to doubt undue advantage before the student has had chance to prove its soundness? What God breathed cannot be built up on doubt, or be considered as manual of instruction when we consider righteousness as an attribute applied to God only. It is not without reason St Paul states, “Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Rom.10:17)”. Between God and man righteousness can be passed from greater to the lesser whose want cannot be based from any position than of total surrender. The medium of instruction is faith. God first exercised it (Heb.11:3) and man’s response to know his Will therefore must necessarily begin on faith.

The Bible is God-document the testimony of God that can stand on its own. How in the past many teachers all with good intentions have approached doctrinal questions, and ended up in creating controversies one must ask, ‘why?’ Why so many sects, if the Body of Christ be one? At the time of the author growing up was a God-is-dead movement that shall serve just as well as a case in point. Was this radical theology any different from prosperity theology? No, it was cut from the same cloth of man’s understanding where his necessity was to explain his worldview rationally. (Such controversies have bedevilled Christianity from the Apostolic Age to this day. The Jewish question is not what we face now. World ecumenism of our times would Photoshop Jesus rather.) Problem lay with man’s rational approach than with the testimony of God. ‘Instruction in righteousness’ is the aim of Scripture so whatever approach man adopts towards it has to stay along the path cleared by the Spirit for him. Man is the subject and ‘righteousness’ his purpose so his instruction therefore can profit from.

While on one level the Spirit chronicles the history of the nation of Israel there is a secondary purpose and it is in revealing God’s ways with man. The promise of God to Abraham was conditional. In order to instruct us we have the story of Rebekah faced with two nations from the same bowel. It challenges us to understand God’s ways, which are consistent throughout.

When God separated light from darkness he saw it was good.  So whatever good in the eyes of God must belong to the promise of God who is perfect. As the Son of man attested only his Father was good (Mt.19:17). This idea is affirmed by the writer to the Hebrews, ‘For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater he sware by himself (He.6:13).’ What was his creative act but faith (He.11:3) and it was good (Ge.1:3). Thus when we are reading the election of Jacob it was not his deceit but faith that passed the muster. As in the case of Abraham who was ready to sacrifice his son Isaac on the mount, he proved when he prevailed over God at Peniel. Faith is a personal commitment Jacob possessed. All other traits a man shall ever hold, both noble and ignoble are, in course of time, straightened out about faith, which is the quintessence of God. When we consider Jacob and Esau we see Jacob was cunning and deceitful as Esau more forgiving and open. Be that as it may such faith that made Jacob struggle over his elder brother while in the womb gives Predestination another facet: without faith it is impossible to please God.

In the Creation Day when the glory of God gave a form to the earth the Spirit instructs us that what was visible did attest to it.(Ro.1:20). In the case of Jacob in the pre-natal state imbibed as though it were, naturally pursued birth right  even after delivered from their mother’s womb. Whereas Esau dismissed his birthright as a trifle.

“Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them (Mt.13:12-NIV)”.

If Adam in the Garden explained the ground zero of history of nations we have in Abraham the history of nations set at human terms. Faith is what separates the history of God’s people and those of nations that try to write history as series of events where man is the doer.

Abraham on the other hand let God write it for him.

God called Abraham out of his father’s house ‘to a land that I will give thee (Ge.12:1)’. When God would allow him take possession of it was not specified. The time was determined by God and not by his ‘here and now’ basis. If it were conditional it would not have been faith but merely a transaction.  By shared experience of faith God enlightens him as to the future of his family. Naturally the question arises: why He did not let him possess the Promised Land?

God said “Arise, walk through the land in the length of it and in the breadth of it; for I will give it unto thee (12:17).” In chapter 23 we read of Abraham buying before witnesses a burial place and it marked the burial place for himself and his wife. Having informed of his ‘seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs’ He makes a covenant saying, ‘Unto thy seed have I given this land…(Ge.15:18). Here we get a clue why God did not allow him to possess in his life time. “For the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full (15:16).” Abraham accordingly lived as a stranger in the land God had promised to his seed. Through Abraham we have been blessed. Naturally children of God through their faith in the power of resurrection have to wait for God’s Time in order to inherit the kingdom. Jesus Christ promised us, “Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom.(Lk.12:32-NIV).” How is our faith? Is it the kind of activism the Pharisees and teachers of law employed? When the Christians jump the bandwagons of political parties that is not faith but something else.

Coming back to Abraham who are these Amorities? The gentiles are descendants of Noah through Ham.(Ge.10:6-16)

Core Will of God carried divine blessings that were to come upon all families of the earth through Abraham. These Amorites among other gentile nations, the Girgashites, the Jebusites to name a few, are also included but God’s Time drew distinction between the seed of Abraham through Sarah from all others and it had specific reference to the covenant that God made with Abraham (Ge.15:18-20).

History of man as we see it written down is set according to earth time. Thus we have had description of England before the beginning of 20th century as the island nation on which the sun never set. Compare her history now. Nebuchadnezzar’s dream indicated qualities of nations where gold silver brass and iron refer to world-kingdoms according to their pomp and circumstance. Despotism of the ruler, as in the example of Nebuchadnezzer has steadily degrade to a state of affairs as we see in our times. Clay and iron of governance is very much in evidence. The very lack of solutions is only matched by a nature freaked out. Drought, flash floods snow storms and tornadoes are facets of our times. The king’s vision in the book of Daniel only need the stone cut without hands to make it a reality.

Predestination is God’s Wisdom and Power overriding the free will of man. God’s Time determines the rise and fall of nations and history is simply a catalogue of blessings that would culminate when Jesus Christ as the stone cut without hands sets up ‘a kingdom, which shall never be destroyed…(Dan.2:44)’ When the holy city of God is revealed we find there shall be nations which are saved and they shall walk by the light of it (Re.21:22-24).

Individual and nation

These two entities  carry different weights before God. God as the Sovereign Lord God wills fellowship with man. It is what such terms as Mercy and grace would signify. It rests on conditions all of which are laid down by God.

We shall consider what these are from the life of Abraham. The Spirit informs us that he was the friend of God (Jas.2:23; 2 Chr.20:7; Is.41:8)

Friendship is cultivated between individuals and it entails shared experience, which in case of God and man can never be of equal weight. Righteousness of God and of man are irreconcilable. Only faith or trust can make these hold in balance. This is what Apostle James declares: “Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.” Righteousness was imputed to Abraham. Glory of his grace in this case made Abraham as his friend on account of faith.

“Walk before me and be thou perfect (Ge.17:1).”

He was called out by God and he obeyed. “…And he went out not knowing whither he went (He.11:8) “Can two walk together except they be agreed (Am.3:3)?” Faith is the shared experience of God and man.

Secondly he was the father of many nations.

Quality of faith is consistent. Faith is one (Ep.4:5). Faith of God is such he does not have to judge any one on account of superficial considerations of race, colour, creed. “For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son (Jn.5:23)”.

When God first appeared to him Abraham was seventy-five years old and accordingly departed out of Haran. In order to make him the Father of many nations God found it necessary that he made himself above such considerations that man finds as essential. National identity, familial bonds were of little worth as much as trust to be called a friend of God.

The Spirit in recounting the manner Abraham resorted to ruse on account of his wife Sarah (Ge.12:10-20) in the land of Egypt reveals the cultural context in which children of God have to conduct their lives. A similar incident is mentioned in the life of his son Isaac while he sojourned in the land of Gerar (Ge.26:6-11). How do we handle our cultural baggage? A parable of Jesus throws useful commentary for our spiritual growth. The kingdom of heaven is like a net cast into the sea. It brings to surface both good and bad. (Mt.13: 47-50). We have to get rid of whatever is bad and hindrance to our growth.

As customary with the Spirit supplying marginal notes to Abraham as an instrument or rather as Friend of God his relation is established. The order of Melchizedek connects divine seal stamping him as the father of many nations. St Paul and the writer to the Hebrews supply additional information for helping us see his position in the divine Plan. Melchizedek was the “King of righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of peace; Without father, without mother, without descent…abideth a priest continually (He.7:1-4)”. He brought Abraham bread and wine when he came after the slaughter of the kings at the valley of Shaveh (Ge.14:17). Bread and wine are additional clues as to the identity of the Priest-King.

“Unto him that loved us …and made us kings and priests unto God and his Father;(Re.1:6-7)”

Evidently it is a different order than the Law of Moses enjoined. “In thee shall all families of the earth be blessed (Ge.12:3).” The nation of Israel was recipient of blessings of God and it tells only part of the story.

Without fully touching on the nature of God one cannot understand the theological term of Predestination. Let me quickly run through what these are.

The Will of God cannot run contrary to His attributes Power and Wisdom, dimension of which is infinite. Thus  where his Wisdom touches an abstract idea of love it cannot be conceived as apart from his will. His love is evident in his creation calendar. First He made all that were needful for man and on the sixth ‘day’ He observed, “…Behold it was very good.(Ge.1:30)” God entrusted the creatures under the care of Adam after he had endowed him with his living breath. He inducted him into service as it were. Naturally we see God trusted in his stewardship when God brought His creation to him and  left choice of their names(Ge.2:19) to him.  God’s trust in his own Power and Wisdom working through him is unmistakeable( When Calvin makes Total Depravity as a central plank in his doctrine he is undermining God’s sovereign Power and Wisdom. Liberality of God in such gifts we can conclude are examples of Love in expression.

Man’s moral choice, whether killing a life form,- be it plants or animals, was not altogether any new element introduced. Adam correctly exercised it when found no helpmeet among animals. It is part of his Gift, wisdom and is entered under the divine Will. What is death to us? Dissolution of physical reality that the body holds for us. Whereas death holds altogether a different significance to Him. It cannot be otherwise, seeing Power and Wisdom are inextricably woven into the Will. Also significant is the testimony of Jesus who speaks of his Father thus. “You do err, not knowing the scriptures…God is not the God of the dead but of the living (Mt.22:29-32)”. I shall cite another example. God gave double of everything Job had lost  (Jb.42:10) He had seven sons and three daughters before Satan afflicted him. In the end when God blessed he was given the same number and not double mind you, of children. His children who were dead to him were already in the presence of God.( Jb.42:13),

Holy Spirit reveals God by the generic term  Elohim in the Creation Account. From John’s account we know God the Son was also present (Jn.1:3-4,1)  God is the Father of lights. Jesus Christ is revealed as the light of men. The spirit in extending God’s attributes make the Will envelop the whole cosmos to give it space. Trust that God extended to Adam connects with Jesus symbol of which is light*. This natural phenomena is not in terms of light having to travel light years but in terms of man’s power and wisdom howsoever is limited. Inspiration of the Holy Spirit is to render a believer overcome his physical limitations. Some Bible scholars have erred in ascribing double predestination,

God’s gifts and calling are without repentance. As Just God his Power and Wisdom he scattered liberally and in sending his Son with a clear mandate (‘whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have eternal life’) is in harmony with His nature.  Just as He entrusted Adam with naming the creatures He left judgment to the Son since His Fullness is in the Son. (For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell-Col.1:19-KJV) .Jesus expressed divine Will in no uncertain terms. ’Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish.’(Mt.18: 14) He also proved with his life.

Core Will is a term to explain Will of God in  totality.  This is necessary owing to our finite understanding of time. Divine Will commands certain attitudes and conduct from man. It has a finite time frame. Man is judged on this basis. Whatever judgment God determines on these has a Time frame,

In order to demonstrate predestination in working and how we are part of eternal plan of God let me quote two passages one from the Epistle to the Hebrews and the other from the Book of Job.

Speaking of Melchicedec, the King of Salem St Paul states that Abraham gave him a tenth part of all in tithes. He goes on to add, ‘And verily they that are of the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes of the people according to the law…’

“For he (Levi) was yet in the loins of his father, when Melchicedec met him.(He.7: 10)”.

Now for the other.

When the Lord finally confronted Job out of a whirlwind he asked, ‘…Where was thou when I laid the foundation of the earth? Declare, if thou hast understanding (Jb.38: 4)’. Levi was in the loins of Abraham when he paid tithes to the King of Salem. By the same token when God laid the foundation of the earth we were all dead in sins because of Adam, and without a ray of hope. We have been preordained in his Will for punishment. But in obeying the Son and by our faith we have received grace. He blotted out the writing against us and nailed to the cross. (Col.2: 14). This is what St Paul terms as ‘mystery of his Will’ (Ep.1: 9) the key to which is the atoning work of the Son.

As a result we figure as overcomers in Core Will, which ‘he hath purposed in himself’. Thus by the blood of Christ Jesus God shall establish us children of obedience in Core Will.

All that required for such a turn around was our faith, which comes from hearing the Word. “…Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Ro.10: 17)”. This is the kind of faith that death cannot silence.  Cain slew Abel but his blood could catch the ear of God.

God cannot deny himself. His divine Love spreads outwards through his Son and as Jn.3:15-16 makes it clear the call is to even the little ones. Predestination when man interprets it relying on authority,  as lawyers and scribes in the time of Jesus did, is narrowed. Jesus castigated them. The same spirit works still.

Consider this verse. “Notwithstanding they (sons of Eli) hearkened not the voice of their father, because the Lord would slay them (1 Sa.2:25) As mentioned in the example of Job we were all under condemnation because of Adam. Also the verse in the gospel of Luke clues us in the condemnation abides with those who reject the counsel of God by rejecting the Son( Lk.7:29-30)

Because of our faith we were justified through his Son unto salvation. In rejecting the Son is tantamount to a state where we are rejecting God the Father . All authority is given to the Son (Jn.5:22,27). God is the Will while the Son is fulfillment. The Spirit in setting down two narratives from the Father and the Son respectively made the sons of Eli foreordained as it were, because they rejected the counsel of their father.

  • The Spirit tags persons with qualities in this case light. Glory of Adam in the presence of God is light. When he chose to step out of God’s Will he felt naked meaning his glory left him. It connects to Jesus in whom was the light of men. Thus the Spirit informs us of Children of light and of darkness.
