Adonijah proposed himself to sit in place of his father as Absalom earlier had. He knew how to steal the hearts of all people with his winning ways and extremely good looks. Absalom would not make it merely by some intrigue; neither would Adonijah. He certainly found some big names to further his cause. Nathan the prophet approached Bathsheba and said,”Let me, I pray thee, give thee counsel, that thou mayest save thine own life, and the life of thy son Solomon(v.12).
