TheSpirit presents King Solomon as a double for the Son. The above verse denotes one aspect which is associated with Jesus Christ. He was the prince of peace.. “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace(Is.9:6). Much of this Messianic prophecy could be applied to King Solomon as well. Solomon was the heir of promise, beloved of God, and we have this verse, ‘And (David) he called his name Jedidiah, because of the Lord(2 Sa.12:25)’. Jesus was beloved of God and while he lived the voice from heaven testified ‘This is my beloved Son.’

The superscription is taken from the Messianic prophecy of Isaiah,””And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people; to it shall the Gentiles seek; and his rest shall be glorious(Is.11:10).” Wisdom of God is here set up as an ensign; and it was in Solomon and also points out,’in that day, which in the parlance of the Spirit refers to the day of the Lord. The ensign stands for something else. The people refers to the church redeemed from the earth are signs and wonders. It refers to King Solomon which is specific but foreshadows the Millennial reign of the Messiah.
