“And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.“
Here we see the angel making use of the symbolism of millstone to overthrow the great city of Emblematic of the pride of man. The tower of Babel was one such. Introducing it early on the Holy Spirit set a warning to the diligent reader of the Holy Writ.
People make the city so casting the stone into the sea is tantamount to smashing the great city.
