The Revelation- Re.22: “living waters”

“And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.”(v.1)

In order to understand this we need refresh our minds with Ezekiel vision of the living water in Ch.47.

In place of the temple St John is looking at the throne of God and of the Lamb which we can now speak of the Head of a living Church. The river of time flows and it must have a place to go to,- is it not?

“Where it enters the Dead Sea. When it empties into the sea, the salty water there becomes fresh./ Swarms of living creatures will live wherever the river flows. There will be large numbers of fish, because this water flows there and makes the salt water fresh; so where the river flows everything will live.” (Ez.47:9-10)

And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.

In several places we have a cross the spiritual significance of the command number 12. . In the upper room “the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty” with the purpose of choosing an apostle in place of Judas Iscariot. (Ac.1:15).The number had to be right. The Revelation- Re.21:10-14 “Jewels”

 “And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,/ Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal.”(vv.10-11)

Building the holy city is a task left to God, to which Abraham looked for.
