Before we go into the text proper we may consider it as a summary of what we have covered so far. We have a passage from the short epistle of Jude to explain what we are looking at. “And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day.”(v.6) The angels, God made spirits and who estranged from their first state He has reserved in everlasting chains. Emblematic of this the red dragon in the vision is shown having ten horns.
