Job 14: 6 Parable #3 “Rest’

“Turn from him, that he may rest, till he shall accomplish, as an hireling, his day.”

Here we have Parable# 1 begun from chapter-10. What is the rest from the labor?

Job 13: 20-26 “Book of Remembrance”

“Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and holdest me for thine enemy?/ Wilt thou break a leaf driven to and fro? and wilt thou pursue the dry stubble?(vv.23-24)”

Dust is made of fine particles of solid matter, soil lifted by wind, pollution volcanic eruptions burnt meteoric particles. When these accumulate daily each new layer exerting pressure of the one below create history of our world. After some 63 millennia these dust has become sedimentary rocks. Sometimes when man digs into it he may find a fossilized plant life or a dinosaur neatly preserved giving us an idea of the flora and fauna of the ancient world. God does not need memory . In the Land of the living God all souls must come up before God.

Job 13:1-6 Job’s arguments

Lo, mine eye hath seen all this, mine ear hath heard and understood it./  What ye know, the same do I know also: I am not inferior unto you.” (vv.1-2)

The above argument is part of the parable #1 ‘Thou hast made me as the clay; and wilt thou bring me into dust again? (10:9)’ His argument goes only as far as his life experience goes in the world of the flesh. Why break up a body which is fashioned from the ground by God. What useless preoccupation a man has before him to gain experience and surely one day his case shall be that of a broken pitcher before the fountain.
