How shall we justify ourselves? What standard shall we produce with out truth? Jesus Christ is the truth so our assurance is nothing of ourselves but the righteousness that comes by faith. “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit(Ro.8:1).

Job in this chapter sets down several ifs.

 If I have walked with vanity, or if my foot hath hasted to deceit;(v.5)”

“If my step hath turned out of the way, and mine heart walked after mine eyes, and if any blot hath cleaved to mine hands;(v.7)”

“If mine heart have been deceived by a woman (v.9)”

From ch.29 and ch.30 Job is summing up several phases of his existence as known to his conscious mind and to God. God called him out before the worlds began and He is eternal while Job at one level undergoes changes.
