Parable #7 Job compares his body to a family where corruption is the natural soil and members are no less strange when one considers what they seek after and what is their hope? For this reason Jesus asked, “While he(Jesus) yet talked to the people, behold, his mother and his brethren stood without, desiring to speak with him./ Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee.

The Spirit uses this allegory to reveal a great mystery and it must demolish our cherished concepts about time that we by perseverance, luck and cleverness can rise to success. In physical world it seems so but what success is to lose it all for the worms in the end? Anyone who is in Christ is a new creature. It is for the eternal glory of the Son who suffered shame and indignities for our sakes. “Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.”

We have a banqueting house and when we received Jesus Christ as our Saviour we have a sure pplace to go to. We may toil under stern taskmasters and hope to receive the subsistence allowance, an hireling’s wages which barely keeps our body and soul together. Yet we carry on because we trust He who promised us is faithful. Eternity of blessedness and our souls’ soundness shall smoothens the wear and tear of our corruptible bodies. “In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: and his children shall have a place of refuge(Pr.14:26).
