What is left there in a man if he has gained the whole world but lost his integrity? It is the savor of his soul for which no other man can pay ransom. In doing so is he not trivializing the precious blood of the Son? We have seen many who for the praise of men have left off the truth they know because God put it there. But Job answered and said,

2How hast thou helped him that is without power? how savest thou the arm that hath no strength?

3How hast thou counselled him that hath no wisdom? and how hast thou plentifully declared the thing as it is?

To whom hast thou uttered words? and whose spirit came from thee?

Job is referring the ideas thrown at him by his friends. First Eliphaz spoke ‘Then a spirit passed before my face; the hair of my flesh stood up:/ It stood still, but I could not discern the form thereof: an image was before mine eyes, there was silence, and I heard a voice, saying,/ Shall mortal man be more just than God? shall a man be more pure than his maker? (4:14-17).

“Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said,/ Dominion and fear are with him, he maketh peace in his high places./ Is there any number of his armies? and upon whom doth not his light arise?/ How then can man be justified with God? or how can he be clean that is born of a woman?
