“Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. (Matt.7:14).

Straight and narrow is the path to life. The shortest distance between two points according to Euclid is a straight line. In the Land of the living soul is a point connecting us to Jesus Christ who compared himself to the door. “I am the door” Jesus as the Way is also mediator, High priest and the Apostle(He.3:1).

“Enter ye in at the strait gate” is a commandment and it is not negotiable. Because there is only one gospel and one faith and it is what we may choose while we are in the world of flesh. Moses’s words exhorting to the Israelites to choose life is not about nations but to every creature whose soul shall come up for judgment.”And as it is appointed unto men once…

“Then Eliphaz the Temanite answered and said,/ Can a man be profitable unto God, as he that is wise may be profitable unto himself?/ Is it any pleasure to the Almighty, that thou art righteous? or is it gain to him, that thou makest thy ways perfect?/

 Will he reprove thee for fear of thee? will he enter with thee into judgment?/ Is not thy wickedness great? and thine iniquities infinite?/ For thou hast taken a pledge from thy brother for nought, and stripped the naked of their clothing”(vv.1-6). Eliphaz goes on with a litany of Job’s undiscovered crimes that only God would know.

In vv.21-27 He exhorts Job to be reconciled with God (‘Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee’)  Job remonstrated that it was not the case.

Job sets up a parable how God would instead empower him.

Parable#9

“Shall any teach God knowledge? seeing he judgeth those that are high./ One dieth in his full strength, being wholly at ease and quiet./ His breasts are full of milk, and his bones are moistened with marrow./ And another dieth in the bitterness of his soul, and never eateth with pleasure./ They shall lie down alike in the dust, and the worms shall cover them.

Death is a great leveler and the three friends of Job went wrong in judging from outward circumstances of man. One dies in ripe old age surrounded by his family and another dies in his prime and it is left to is parent to bury him.
