And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.

Man-child is a composite as the beast who appears out of the sea in Re.13:1 is a conglomerate of beasts whose fierceness is pride in their prowess. It was in such context we considered behemoth and leviathan. Their pride came from the dragon so these transcend the hypopotamus and crocodile of the natural world. For this line of argument we have a fitting example of the king of Babylon (Is.14:4) Man-child on the other hand is true Light ‘which lighteth every man that cometh into the world(John 1:9)’. And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.

War in heaven works in tandem with events on the earth. Here we have a parenthesis which is outside the straightforward narrative. In fulness of time God sends his Son (Gal.4:4) We have Jesus observing the consequence of the war in heaven and it has a bearing on his own passion and death.

Jesus sends his disciples two by two and later other disciples 70 in number “After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come(Lk.10:1)” . The red dragon was a wonder of the ages and was set in heavenly places. This is indicated by his seven heads with as many crowns indicating he was completely sold to thwart the divine Will. He had power to do mischief so he would beguile Eve through a serpent; besides he would find those who would work for him. In the ch.13 we have the beast whose power is derived from the dragon. So the beast is a composite picture of leopard, lion and bear, whose miscellaneous qualities are contrary to God. On the other hand those who heard the call and abide in the protective shield of divine will have the emblem of the slain Lamb. “There hath no temptation taken you…

‘A woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet ‘ refers to the church. This wonder is taking place in heaven. The Spirit uses this to indicate the divine Will and the woman therefore is the church where the universal call has gone out. Righteousness is like a garment under which there is no distinction whether the Jew or Gentiles, gender bias and so on. This is validated by the Father Son relationship indicated by the sun and the moon under her feet. Thus the Son has been already assigned the role of fulfilling the divine Will. In the Book of Genesis the greater light and lesser light also serve as a sign (Ge.1:16)

And upon her head a crown of twelve stars‘ Christ as the head implied there. Number 12 is associated with Jesus Christ. He is God the Son and the Word was…
