Meditations: Pr.2:16-19 “Paths of life”

Every house is built for some purpose. “For every house is builded by some man; but he that built all things is God(He.3:4). Shelter for man is one of the basic necessities and he seeks and does he find it always?

Sound wisdom of God shows the path of life and it is not merely for his creature comforts. Is not the life of man more than meat and drink. So Wisdom having built her house with seven pillars calls out ” Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him,/ Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled./ Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding(9:4-6)”. What does fools do? Wisdom crying out in the street is not for them. Their own counsels will do. “The slothful man

Meditations-Pr.2:3-7 “Sound wisdom”

In the previous post we considered wisdom as feminine principle. The gracious words that came out of Jesus at the synagogue in Nazareth for example was sound wisdom. The passage given for him to read on that particular day was from the Book of Isaiah. It made a full circle the eternal God revealed His mind and the Son delivered in a voice that made his congregation wonder. “And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth(Lk.4:22).

This wisdom is not given to beachcombers who pick and choose whatever fanciful pieces the seas throw up. The flotsam and jetsam are heresies and have no iota of the knowledge of God. The sects who insist God shall bring back Levitical priesthood in Zion and animal offerings are necessitated to prove God did not fail with the Law of Moses. The author of this…
