“And they asked him, What then? Art thou Elias? And he saith, I am not. Art thou that prophet? And he answered, No./ Then said they unto him, Who art thou? that we may give an answer to them that sent us. What sayest thou of thyself?”
When we speak of being foreknown it is the absolute certainty of Truth that settles the matter. It was certainly puzzling for the Psalmist. “My substance was not hid from thee!” he declares awed by the power of the Lord God,”and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them(Psalm 139:15-16). Flesh evidently cannot settle the matter since our memory prepares only for a short span which is blip in the eternal time. Our corruptible body is dissolved and all our glory like that of grass shall no longer knows…
